Best Burger in Aberdeen, NC

I'm not one to go out and order a hamburger.  I'm not one to order anything out that I can make at home.  If you ask people that know me they will tell you I will figure out how to make my favorite restaurant foods just so I will try something else on the menu!

But not at The Bakehouse!  I always order, and will never order anything but, the Barcelona Burger.  My mouth is watering as I write this.  It is the perfect beef mixed with spinach and onions, topped with swiss cheese and placed on the most perfectly baked bun you can imagine.  Then it is lovingly covered in a garlic sauce that you just can't get enough of.  You must bite it the minute it gets to the table.  It's impossible to wait even one second.  You can't even take a picture before a bite!

The Bakehouse is a tiny little spot with just 10 or 12 tables.  It is a very rare occasion that we do not wait 20 to 30 minutes for a table.  But the wait is worth every minute.

If by chance you have room left after the burger they have the most amazing pastries.  We enjoy the tiramisu.  Every desssert we have tried is wonderful.  The great news is you don't have to eat in the restaurant.  There is take out and you can just grab things from the bakery and go.

It worries me a little to tell the world about my favorite burger because the wait for a table may become longer.  But I always promise our clients to share our favorite places and things.

You can find The Bakehouse at 120 North Poplar Street in Aberdeen.

Enjoy!

5 Reasons it is Better to Buy than Rent

5 Reasons it is Better to Buy Than Rent

  1. Equity.  You can't build equity in a rental property, but you can by owning it!
  2. Tax Deduction.  Your rent payment is not tax deductible.  Contact your tax advisor to discuss deducting the interest portion of your mortgage payment
  3. Fixed Payment.  Do you find your rent increases each time your lease is renewed?  With a fixed rate mortgage, the principle & interest payments never go up.
  4. Pride.  An apartment can feel like only a place to stay, but a benefit of owning your home is the pride of your own home!
  5. Additional Tax Benefits.  As part of owning a home versus renting, you may be eligible for tax credits for improvements and other tax incentives.
Stop Paying Your Landlord's Mortgage!  Build Your Equity!

With rates still at incredible lows it is time to start building equity in your own home.  Many renters can afford to buy a home but don’t realize it.

Are you thinking that you need a lot of cash to buy a home?  That your monthly payment would be more than you can afford?

In our area we are still in a buyer’s market.  This market has given first time home buyers much more buying power.

There are many mortgage options available today.  If you are ready to open the door to home ownershipo call us and let us put you in touch with our preferred lender, Jason Brooks of Movement Mortgage.  Towering Pines Real Estate can help you start looking for your home today!

Ben Franklin said "There are only two things certain in life:  death and taxes."  If you would like to pay less in tax, home ownership can help!  Check out the attached link from the National Association of Realtors to show you how and always discuss this with your personal tax adviser.

Vacation in North Carolina

Well, it is that time of year where our minds start thinking about vacation.  Or maybe it is a little early.  I do think that the 8 inches of snow this week along with a little ice (which is unusual for our part of NC) has sparked my spring and summer thoughts early.

I find my mind wandering to the garden and where our trips might take us.  We have so many favorite spots.  There is the beach, the mountains and then of course the callings of family.

Every summer takes us to Holden Beach for just day trips.  I’m not sure if it is the beach or the Shrimp Burger at Provision Company that calls harder.  Either way it is a relaxing day with my toes in the sand or just floating on the boogie board.  As a girl from NY I am still amazed at the 80 degree water here in the ocean.  How can such a large body of water be so warm?

North Carolina Beaches

We have also found a new favorite in the mountains.  Did you know that Biltmore has a summer concert series?  We happened to find a great Groupon to a hotel in Waynesville last summer and while looking for things to do I discovered that on the weekend we planned to go the Four Tops and the Temptations were playing at Biltmore.  I am still awestruck at being there, listening to some of my favorites with God painting the most incredible sunset!  We are patiently waiting to see what is announced for the upcoming year to make plans once again.

Biltmore

Last year also seemed to be the Year of the Grape.  We found 3 great wineries in Asheville, Yadkin Valley and Ronda, NC.

Living In the Pinehurst Southern Pines area you just don’t have to go far to enjoy yourself.

But we all need something new.  What will it be?  Stay tuned….

The Moore County North Carolina Real Estate Market is Improving!

Watching the national news we often hear about the recovery of the real estate market and that many large markets across the country have fully recovered and are now in multiple offer situations.  While the Moore County Real Estate market has lagged behind in that recovery it seems it may be knocking on our door.

When comparing single family home and horse farm sales from 2011 through 2013 there was a significant increase in home sales.  45%!  Total sales for 2011 were 952, 2012 were 1073 and 2013 gave us 1380 closed home sales.

Understanding the real estate market has serious impact on getting your home sold!  Positioning your home in the market goes hand in hand with the absorption rate.  The rate of absorption is determined by the number of homes that are selling versus the number of homes on the market.  The absorption rate varies significantly by price point.  A well positioned listing becomes a sold listing!

Give us a call at Towering Pines Real Estate to learn how to position your home in today’s real estate market and get it sold!  910-528-1181.

People Are Moving to North Carolina!

It's obviously not just me that thinks North Carolina is a great place to live.  United Van Lines Annual Migration Study lists North Carolina as #3 for most inbound moves.

Life in North Carolina gives you incredible coastline on the east and the Great Smokey Mountains in the West.  Taking you from sea level to an elevation high of 6684 ft on the top of Mount Mitchell.

We are the home of Nascar, NFL's Carolina Panthers, NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and Golf with 40 courses right here in our backyard.  We are also home to many college teams that have an avid following of fans.  We are true "Carolina Blue" Tar Heel fans but do have a Duke fan or two here in our company!

Our climate here in the Piedmont area tends to have average temperatures in the 90's in summer and 40's in winter.  But if you need snow you can head to the mountains and in 4 hours to enjoy or craving the perfect shrimp burger you can be there by lunch if you leave at 10 a.m.

Whether you like top chefs such as Emeril, great wine or country barbeque you will find it here in North Carolina.

People come here for a visit and never go home!  Ready to find your new home in North Carolina check it out right here!

Thank you United Van Lines for sharing this great information.
