Low Cost Spay and Neuter in Moore County

In 2013, Moore County announced a new initiative to reduce and eventually eliminate the need for euthanasia in the Moore County Animal Shelter.

In 2013, the county shelter took in 3200 animals and sadly 2199 of these dogs and cats were euthanized.  Moore County has created FIX’Moore, a fund to help provide low cost spay and neuter.   FIX’Moore has already made an impact and has seen lower intake numbers at the shelter.

You can help today with the continued success of this program by making a donation to the FIX'Moore Fund.  For information on how to make a donation please visit their site at www.animalcentermoorecounty.com/donate

If your home isn't ready for a pet and you would rather volunteer at the shelter they would appreciate your help.

And always remember if you are looking for that special new family member to visit the animal shelter to adopt your pet.  They are easy to find at 5235 US Hwy 15/501 in Carthage.

Pizza in Southern Pines, NC

When you are from New York, like Chicago, you can be pretty particular about your pizza.  Arrogant some might say, and they would probably be correct.  Here in Southern Pines we have two favorite pizza spots!  If you are looking for that New York style pizza we recommend So Pies NY Pizzeria at 130 West New Hampshire Ave.  We always ask for the crust to be extra crispy and they never disappoint!  Great news - they now deliver!

If you would prefer a great specialty pizza with a great glass of wine P.zza will never disappoint.  This artisan wood fired pizza is located at 127 West Pennsylvania Ave.  They also have great salads and small plates in case one of your dining friends just doesn't feel like pizza. The staff here is warm and wonderful and the smell from the street just draws you in!

Pinecrest High School - Best in Moore County!

Schools are always important when purchasing a home.  Even for the buyer who does not have children.  Parents with children will pay attention to school ratings and often design their home search to focus on certain schools.  To be sure their children receive a strong education, studies show buyers will pay more for a home to be in the right district.

The National Association of Realtors recently shared a recent Redfin study using MLS databases and have discovered that buyers paid, on average, an additional $50 per square foot for homes within certain school districts during the period of May 1 to July 31, 2013.

If you are wondering where the best high school is here in Moore County we are proud to share the most recent U.S. News and World Report!  U.S. News and World Report recently named their top high schools in North Carolina.  They reviewed 31,242 U.S. public high schools and 97 North Carolina schools made the ranking.  We are very proud of Pinecrest High School and the faculty right here in Southern Pines!  They have been ranked #15 in North Carolina and #1383 nationally. Congratulations to our teachers and our students for all of their hard work!
